Ajman Bank organizes blood donation drive in UAE
· Donation centres set-up in bank’s Khalifa branch in Ajman and Buhaira branch in Sharjah
· Bank’s employees and customers take part in the donation drive
Ajman, UAE; January 30, 2012: Ajman Bank, in partnership with Ajman Medical District and The Blood Bank in Sharjah, announced today that it has organized a blood donation drive at two of its branches. The initiative to support blood transfusion programs in the UAE saw the bank’s employees and customers, including the Mahra Ladies Banking customers, donate blood at specially arranged centres at the bank’s Khalifa branch in Ajman and Buhaira branch in Sharjah.
Ajman Bank’s donation campaign is in response to call to action by HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for residents in the UAE to meet their responsibilities to be active participants in humanitarian activities such as blood donation.
“This initiative is part of Ajman Bank's long-standing commitment to improve the lives of residents in the UAE, especially children who are suffering from Thalessemia, which require blood transfusion on a constant basis,” said Mohamed Amiri, Acting CEO, Ajman Bank. “I am extremely pleased to see a high turnout from our employees and customers, and I am proud that Ajman Bank has been able to play a role in meeting the increasing demand for donated blood in the UAE.”
